Youth organizations win parade awards

Four local youth organizations won top honors for their entries in the Bend Christmas Parade, parade organizers announced in a release Thursday. The annual parade was held Sunday.

Trinity Lutheran Sunday School won the Sweepstakes Award for the best noncommercial entry; Cub Scout Pack 90 took the Mayor’s Award for best youth entry; Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch received the Rudolph’s Reindeer Award for best equestrian or animal entry; and the Waldorf School of Bend won the Jingle Bell Music Award for the best entry with live Christmas music.

Other local organizations honored included Advanced Welding LLC, which won the Governor’s Award for best commercial entry by a business with 25 employees or less; Central Oregon Pediatric Associates, which won the Grand Marshal’s Award for best commercial entry by a business with more than 25 employees; the Central Oregon Llama Association, which received the Silver Snowflake Award for the best non-motorized entry; and the Awbrey Glen Golf Club, which took the Judges’ Award for the entry with the best development of the parade theme, “Christmas Dreams Come True.”
