At Trinity, Kindergarten is an all-day program that begins to lay the strong academic foundations required for a college preparatory school experience. In addition to student learning focusing on core subjects (math, reading, phonics, science, social studies, writing and Christian studies) students spend 45 minutes each day in Spanish immersion. Music, art and physical education round out the Kindergarten week.
As students move into first-fifth grade, the commitment to strong academics continues. Trinity uses Saxon math and phonics, the Macmillion-McGraw Hill text for Social Studies, Scott Foresman for the Science textbook, the Treasures text for Reading and CPH for Christian studies. We use D'Nealian printing and in 2nd grade our students move from printing to cursive writing in D'Nealian.
Many Trinity School competition teams have won championships at the Lutheran Elementary Schools Tournament (LEST) competitions! To see this year’s results, please go to the LEST page!
Field trips that engage young minds include the State Capitol, Fort Vancouver, a fish hatchery, and others!
Please see below the curriculum at a glance for each grade for a more
in-depth look at what are students are learning.
